Description

Sepia tone portrait of Sergeant Marguerite D. McNeil in uniform. McNeil was among the second group of U.S. WACs to arrive in Australia to serve in General MacArthur's headquarters during World War II. She served in Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines. She died in Belfast, Maine, on November 6, 2005. See also NA3218 for an interview with Marguerite's sister Anne McCarthy.
