Description

According to the Bangor Daily Whig and Courier, April 3, 1895, the wreck involved the St. John and Shoo Fly trains. Fireman, James Ward, of Bangor, was killed after being crushed under the collapsed mail car and Henry A. Appleton of Bangor sustained a broken leg. A large group of men can be seen surveying the wreck. Engine 28 of Maine Central Railroad is visible in the photo. Front matter: "Train wreck on Veazie tracks 1895." No source recorded.
