Abstract/ Summary
This report documents suspected and confirmed fatal and nonfatal drug overdoses in Maine during July 2022 as well as for the period January-July 2022. During July, the proportion of fatal overdoses averaged 7.9% of total overdoses. Monthly proportions of 2022 fatalities have fluctuated from a low of 5.3% in May 2022 to a high of 8.0% in April. During the first seven months of 2022, the average number of overdoses per month was approximately 836 (57 fatal and 779 nonfatal incidents ).
