The Maine Campus ( https://mainecampus.com/about/team/ ) is the official student newspaper of the University of Maine and one of the oldest newspapers in Maine. The Maine Campus is run by a completely student staff. It provides news and information relevant to the UMaine community, especially concerning student campus life.
Preceding Maine Campus from October, 1874 - November, 1878 were the College Reporter and The College Review, April-August, 1876. The University of Maine newspaper from August 28, 1885 until July 1899 was The Cadet. From October 1899 to May 1904 the newspaper was titled The Campus. From June 1, 1904 until the present time, the title has been Maine Campus.
The staff of the Maine Campus publishes new online issues here during the fall and spring semesters.
Uploading of the Maine Campus to the Digital Commons began in January of 2018. New issues are being uploaded frequently.
The digitization of the Maine Campus was funded through the generous gift of the Paul R. and Polly N. Camp Quasi-Endowment Fund for the Fogler Library.
