Black and white finish line action photo of bay gelding, trotter Federal Express beating bay mare, Lawful Lure in the 2.19 Class trot on July 4, 1931 at the Bay State Circuit, Sage Park, Windsor, Connecticut. C. Crossman, driving Federal Express, and F. Wilcox, driving Lawful Lure exchange looks as they cross the finish line. The photo also captures part of the crowd in the grandstand and along the rail as well as a radio truck parked between the grandstand and judges' stand. The horses finished all three heats one-and-two with Federal Express winning the $400 purse.
