Black and white action photograph of the field of horses approaching the finish line of the first heat of the National Stake Trot on Wednesday, July 16, 1941 at the Kite Track, Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Bay colt Volstadt, Berry up, finished the heat in first place. Perpetual, a brown colt, with Parshall up placed in second. Brown colt, Landsdown, Caton up, showed in third.
