Black and white action photograph of gray gelding, trotter Silver Kernel wearing head number one, Frank Safford up, racing for the finish line in the 2.12 Trot on Wednesday, July 2, 1941 at Narragansett Park on the Gorham Fair Grounds, Gorham, Maine. Finishing in second place is bay mare Dorothy Decker, Bolduc up. Chestnut mare, Fairy Hanover, Holden up, showed in third place. The photograph is signed in the lower left-hand corner by photographer Guy Kendall.
