Description
Black and white action photograph of the second half of the daily double on Friday, August 2, 1940 at Bass Park in Bangor, Maine. The dry, dusty track was running slow for the races during the event with brown mare Dolly Yvonne, wearing head number four, Pierce Chappelle up, finishing the 2.09 Pace in first place with a time of 2.12. Brown gelding Sunrise, wearing head number eight, Cleary up, placed in second. Bay gelding Dick Hal wearing head number three, Cluckey up, showed in third.
