Description
Black and white photograph of Irving Pottle and Charles Proctor. Irving W. Pottle (1877-1959) was born in Kingfield, Maine and began harness racing in 1893 at the age of 16. During his 45-year career, Pottle was an driver, trainer, and owner, claiming more than 2,000 races in the driver seat. Charles W. Proctor (1871-1953) of Naples, Maine was also a driver, trainer, and owner in the Maine Harness Racing industry.
