Description
Black and white action photograph of the first heat of the Foals of 1937 National Stake Pace at the 1 Mile Kite Track at Old Orchard Beach, Maine on Wednesday, July 12, 1939. The heat was one of only three races to finish during this meeting of the Grand Circuit as rain caused the cancellation of the remainder of the day's scheduled races. Three-year-old, bay filly Countess Hanover claimed the heat in a time of 2.07 3/4.
