Roan gelding, Intruder wearing head number two, J. Burlingame up claimed the first place win in the first heat. Bay gelding, Afton, A. Rodney up claimed second place in the heat. Bay gelding Calumet Dime, D. Gilman up, crossed the line in third place. Chestnut gelding, Peter Pokey, J. Phalen up, showed in fourth.
