Black and white action photograph of the field of horses approaching the finish line in the first race of day, Thursday, August 18, 1938, at Skowhegan Fair. Chestnut gelding Calumet Calling, wearing head number four, J. Hanafin up, claimed first place in all three heats of the contest. Other horses seen in this shot are Calumet Evart and Musette, who finished in second and third, respectively.
