Description
Black and white photograph of bay gelding, Mac Harvester being held by an unidentified woman, possibly Eva Chellis [Mary Evangeline (Garner) Chellis], wife of well-known horseman, William Morris Chellis of Kezer Falls, Maine. Noted in his April 14, 1948 obituary as a pioneer of the automobile business in New England, Chellis was known as a skilled breeder of Standardbred horses, his most successful horse being the gelding, Echo Harvester. The photograph was taken near the sheds at Narragansett Park, Gorham Fair Grounds, Gorham, Maine.
