Description
Black and white action photo identified by Guy Kendall as Nellie Direct winning the first heat of the 2.19 Trot, the third race of the day, at the Gorham Fair Association races, Cumberland County Fair Grounds, Gorham, Maine on Tuesday, August 10, 1937. According to Kendall's race card notes, however, Nellie Direct finished the third race in second place but claimed first place in the second heat while wearing head number two.
