Description

Black and white finish line action photo of chestnut colt Pastime, H. Brusie up, on a break (galloping rather than trotting) in the third race of the day, the second heat of the 2.20 Class Trot at the Rochester Fair, Cold Spring Park, Rochester, N. H., Thursday, September 27, 1934. Due to Pastime's broken gait, Miss King's Hill (shown in second place in this photograph) was ruled the winner of the heat while Betty Sunshine held onto her third place finish. As a result of the judge's ruling, Kendall noted that he earned a total of $12.40 for placing bets on Pastime to place and Betty Sunshine to show.
