Abstract

The official race program for the Friday, September 9, 1938 Maine State Fair. The program includes a list of the race day officers including the chair of the Maine Racing Commission. Photographer Guy Kendall made notations in the program indicating changes in the field of horses, time results of races, and other finish results. Kendall also kept a record of the amounts of money he wagered on each race, recorded in the upper left corner of each race card, and the amount of money won, recorded in the upper right corner of each card.
