Metropolitan Life Insurance Building. At No. 1 Madison Avenue, occupies the entire block to Fourth Avenue between 23rd and 24th Streets. It is a magnificent carved marble structure, 52 stories, 700 ft. high. The tower was added to the main building in 1910. Home of the Insurance Company bearing the same name.
