Description
The Student Innovation Center (SIC) was founded in 2006 to gives students the knowledge, tools and inspiration to become innovators and entrepreneurs. Renee Kelly was appointed in 2006 Director of Economic Development Initiatives to lead the University's entrepreneurship and innovation support activities including the Foster Center for Student Innovation and UMaine's efforts in the Innovation Engineering Institute. The Center was renamed the Foster Student Innovation Center in 2008 after UMaine alumni Bion ('68) and Dorain ('68) H. Foster, in honor of their bequest to the University of Maine.
The records contain discs with digital files related to the work of the Foster Student Innovation Center. This includes course material; copies of old Center webpages; videos from the dedication of the Center and for a Pulp & Paper Foundation open house; photographs of staff, faculty, and students; and promotional material for the Center.
