Abstract
This manuscript is a translation from the French of a novel, Querelle d’un squelette avec son double, by Canadian author Ying Chen. The novel is about two women, both presumably skeletons in some aspect, who can hear each other speaking. The protagonist presented in italic font is buried and expects the other woman to save her; the other woman, the protagonist presented in roman font, questions whether the voice is real and dwells on her own worries. The text dwells on questions of vanity, motherhood, desire, and solidarity. The translation is headed with an “Introduction: Translator’s Preface.” This manuscript is a translation of 95 of 162 pages of the original.
