Project Abstract/ Summary
Earlier this summer, at the request of the GDLSC, Gov. Baldacci extended an invitation to Governor Bill Richardson (D-NM) to deliver our first GDLS lecture on October 7th at 11.00 a.m. in the Maine Center for the Art. In consultation with the office of Gov. Richardson, the GDLS proposed the topic The United Nations, Iraq and the United States: Meeting the Challenge, Sharing the Burden Gov. Richardson has accepted our invitation and will arrive on the morning of Oct. 7. In addition to his free public lecture, Gov. Richardson will meet with UM officials and selected faculty and students and will hold a press conference.
