Project Abstract/ Summary
On Thursday, April 17, 2003 the University of Maine Franco American Studies Program, English Department, Franco-American Centre, and University of Maine Press will co-host a book launch. We are celebrating the release of the new University of Maine Press edition of the long-out of-print, Papa Martel. Written by Lewiston author Gérard Robichaud, Papa Martel is a classic of Franco American literature. The event will feature readings by Mr. Robichaud as well as by Franco- American authors Rhea Coté Robbins of Brewer and Grégoire Chabot of Waterville, also published by the University of Maine Press. The reception and book signing will be held at 4 pm followed by readings and discussion from 4:30-6:00 pm, at the Franco-American Centre.
