The women sit and stand on the right side of the image, basking in the sunlight. One wears a hat, another a sort of bandeau. One carries a walking stick, while her neighbor hoists a knapsack on her back. All appear somewhat weary. The man is in the shadows on the far side of the stream; he carries a backpack and appears to be examing a small object. There are sun-dappled trees all around the quartet.
