Image scanned from black and white negative labeled "On Trail to Katahdin." Two people, possibly a woman and a man, travel along a dirt road toward a distant mountain. One rides a horse, while the other walks close by. They are just about the pass over what may be a bridge. There are thick woods on both sides of the trail, and a line of telegraph or telephone poles. A cluster of buildings can be glimpsed up the road.
