Project Abstract/ Summary
Dr. Frances Fox Piven, a distinguished sociologist, will deliver the Howard B. Schonberger Memorial Lecture on o'Ho\.v Protest Movements Change American History," on October 25 at 7:30 p.rn. in I 00 Donald P. Corbett Hall on the University of Maine campus. Professor Piven will also speak at the Socialist and Marxist Studies Series at" 12:30 p.m. on October 25 in the Bangor Room, Memorial Union on "Does Labor Power Matter: Why the Past Doesn't Predict the Future."
The Howard B. Schonberger Memorial Lecture fund was created in 1991 to honor the scholarship and activism of its namesake and has increased yearly through private contributions. The fund has sponsored over twenty prominent speakers who have drawn large audiences from the community and university.
