The Maine Perspective, a publication for the University of Maine, was a campus newsletter produced by the Department of Public Affairs which eventually transformed into the Division of Marketing and Communication. Regular columns included the UM Calendar, Ongoing Events, People in Perspective, Look Who's on Campus, In Focus, and Along the Mall. The weekly newsletter also included position openings on campus as well as classified ads. Coverage includes the announcement of BearWorks 2.0 reflecting extensive changes; the announcement of the "New Blue" and standardization of UMaine's trademark "UMaine Blue;" an increase in student enrollment over 1997; and the planned dedication of Alfond Stadium and Morse Field.
