An image scanned from a black and white photograph William P. Randel addressing an audience in Greece. Randel served as a Fulbright Professor of American Life and Civilization at the University of Athens from 1955-1956. He also gave a series of lectures on American Literature and Civilization hosted by the American Embassy in Athens.
Randel was later a professor of English and American Studies at the University of Maine in Orono. He and his wife, Janet, both had family ties to Waterboro, Maine.
