Description

Black and white photograph of an unidentified teamster sitting on a cushion on top of a small load of logs on a sled. The driver is turned to face the camera while holding the reins for a team of draft horses. The driver has stopped on the snowy landscape, beside the woods camp. Image shows how the woods camp is constructed of low, log walls. The roof is covered in tar paper secured with fir strips. A stove pipe is located near the middle of the roof ridge. Three three-over-three glass windows are situated near the roof ridge providing lighting to the interior of the camp. Grindstone, Maine. Jordan Lumber Co. The original photograph was donated by M.L. Jordan, Old Town, Maine. Accessioned 1958.
