Description
Black and white formal portrait of Lillian Ainsley Smart, daughter of Joseph Emery Smart Sr. and Mary D. (Roberts) Smart. She is a sister to Alice Inez Smart. The portrait is face-on. She wears her hair up in an everyday Gibson Girl pompadour. She has very large, light eyes. She smiles slightly. Lillian wears a white gown imprinted with a leaf pattern. The dress has a heavy, high lace collar and inset. She wears a set of beads and a long chain around her neck. 1900-1910. See NAFOH 2462.
