Black and white photograph of foreman Duke McKeil standing in front of the door of a stockade-style log office for Steve Ranney's Number 2 camp on Boardman Mountain near the east branch of the Pleasant River, Piscataquis County, Maine. This is the second of the same view in this series. Stockade-style refers to the construction of the cabin by placing cut logs, side-by-side vertically (on end), rather than laid in horizontal courses. The peak of the cabin may be constructed of sawn lumber and is closed in using tar paper. The cabin is fitted with two, six-pane windows hung side-by-side. Deep snow surrounds the cabin. McKeil is dressed in wood pants, a buffalo-plaid wool shirt, and a brimmed apple cap (or newsboy cap). An evergreen forest can be seen in the background, ca. 1910-1930. "The 'office.'
