Abstract
The article summarizes a study of the French-Canadian population of Lewiston, Maine. During the nineteenth century thousands of French-Canadians moved to Maine’s mills and mill towns. As a result by the 1980’s almost one-fourth of the of Maine’s population was “French” in origin.
