A brief history of the area of Machias, Maine and events that led to the capture of the Margaretta in the first naval battle of the American Revolution. The text describes the efforts of Hannah and Rebecca Weston to respond to a message that more powder, lead and pewter were needed sixteen miles away in Machias.
