A paper presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, June, 1930. The author touches on the history of the Locomotive Lion and the mechanical changes that had taken place in the 90 years from the time the engine was built in 1840 to the time of the writing of this thesis.
