Margaret Grattan has genetic lines tracing to the greatest American trotting and pacing horses bred in the 1860s and 1870s, including four bloodlines to Hambletonian--cited by historians as "the great father of trotters" from Harrison County, Kentucky; George Wilkes; Mambrino Chief; and Alexander's Abdallah. Margaret Grattan, driven by W. Flemming, finished second in the 2.15 class pace at the Bay State Circuit races, Sage Park, Windsor, Connecticut, Monday, June 30, 1930.
