Black and white action photograph of the finish of the first heat of the 2.11 Class Pace on Thursday, July 18, 1940, at the One Mile Kite Track at Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Black gelding Guy J., wearing saddle number six, E. Jones up finished the heat in a time of 2.05.1/5. Bay gelding Hartford Peter finished second and went on to claim the win in the final two heats of the contest.
