Bay gelding, Hanover Mascot, Haddock up, won the first heat of the contest. John Rowland crossed the finish in second place. McKinney Volo showed in third followed by Walter Princeton and Volunteer. Hanover Mascot set a new track record of 2.08 3/4 for trotters.
