2.18 Class Pace
Black and white photo of bay stallion, Federal wearing head number 2, Henry Clukey up in the 2.18 Class Pace on Thursday, July 22, 1937, at the Old Orchard Beach 1 Mile Kite Track, Old Orchard, Maine. Kendall did not identify which of the two heats is recorded in this photograph. Kendall noted on the program that Federal was barred from betting in the contest, indicating the judges considered Federal a standout in the field. Federal finished the first heat in a time of 2.05 and the second heat in a time of 2.03 3/4.
