Project Abstract/ Summary
Deborah Cook is one of the most distinguished sopranos of her generation. As can be ascertained from the accompanying CV her career literally soared from triumph to triumph. Ms Cook's voice has retained the freshness and expressiveness of youth, her previous guest appearances on Phillip Silver's Thwarted Voices program were met by enthusiastic audience approbation. We are very happy that Deborah Cook will appear on next year's Thwarted Voices event. This concert, scheduled for October 23,201},will include lieder by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, a composer with whom Ms Cook is very familiar and will include a performance of a stunning lieder cycle entitled "The Eternal". The time commitment by Ms. Cook for this concert will include three preparatory rehearsals, a dress rehearsal and the concert itself.
