Description

Short announcements by several state officials to encourage safe driving during Memorial Day weekend, circa 1955. The station gathered statements from Chief of the Bangor Police Department John B. Toole, Chief of the Brewer Police Department Ralph Willoughby, Maine State Police Officers Robert Marx and John DeWinter, and Maine Governor Edmund S. Muskie (who served as Governor from 1955 to 1959, helping to date the recordings.)
