Abstract/ Summary

The Bangor Daily News, News Center Maine, and WABI (Channel 5) previewed planned upgrades to the athletic facilities at the University of Maine, including improvements to the Harold Alfond Sports Stadium and a new soccer field. The upgrades will be completed with 2 $90 million gift from the Harold Alfond Foundation, part of the Foundation's $240 million investment in the University of Maine System. Ferrini-Mundy and Ken Ralph, UMaine athletic director, also discussed the Alfond Foundation gift and the impact on UMaine's athletics programs on a Voice of Maine broadcast. The athletic facilities master plan was shared at a virtual event at 9 a.m. Feb.17, 2021 on goblackbears dot com.
