Description
A black and white photograph saved in Paul C. Ware's handwritten mountain journal. He had given this photograph the caption, "Searching the Canadian Boundary Mountains for smoke." The edge of the photograph indicates that it was developed in September, 1956. Ware served as a fire spotter for the Maine Forest Service in the summers of 1956 at Mountain #5 in Franklin County in the Jackman area, Kibby Mountain (1957), Snow Mountain (1958 and 1959), and Mount Pisgah (1960).
