Description
A black and white photograph of Guy T. Kendall, a race track photographer who followed the course of Maine harness racing from 1924 to the formation of the Maine State Racing Commission in 1936 and through the peak of the sport’s popularity in the early 1940s. No date or photographer has been noted on the image, but it was probably taken around 1930. Kendall was born in 1893 and died in 1983. The photograph had been in the possession of his niece, Anne Holmbom, and was donated to Fogler Library by Clark P. Thompson in 2013.
Many of Kendall's photographs and albums have been digitized and can be found in the Kendall Collection within DigitalCommons@UMaine: http://digitalcommons.library.umaine.edu/kendall_collection/
