A black and white portrait of Fannie Hardy Eckstorm (1865-1946), an authority on Maine Indians, folklore, ballads and natural history, and author of numerous books on these subjects. Several phrases are written on the back of the photograph including, "Photo by Klyne," "Master of Arts," and "Return to J. A. Gannett." Circa 1940.
