Description

An image scanned from a blue and white cyanotype print with a handwritten caption that reads, "At home he rests his weary wings, And loud a vesper hymn he sings. Nest of the Vesper Sparrow."

Saved within a small collection of images of bird nests taken around 1905. Some are identified as having been taken by Ora Willis Knight, a member of the University of Maine Class of 1895, Maine Experiment Station assistant, resident of Bangor and Portland, and someone who, according to his obituary printed in the Bangor Daily Commercial Nov. 12, 1913, gained a national reputation as a chemist, geologists, and ornithologist.
