An image scanned from an illustration featuring the governors of the New England states in 1862 engraved by J. C. Buttre, 48 Franklin Street in New York, and published by B. B. Russell, 515 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The Bunker Hill Monument appears in the center, and governors, clockwise from the top, are Israel Washburn, Jr. of Maine, Frederick Holbrook of Vermont, William Sprague of Rhode Island, William A. Buckingham of Connecticut, John A. Andrew of Massachusetts and Nathaniel S. Berry of New Hampshire.
