Description

Black and white photograph of an oil painting included in the papers of playwright, poet and critic Virgil Geddes. The back of the image is stamped, "Photo-Art J. Roseman Artiste-Peintre 229, Boulevard Raspall, 229 Paris, A mentionner; Photo Roseman." The painting has a signature that appears to read Littray Fich, and has a brass plate attached with the number 455. Probably created early in Geddes' career when he spent time in Paris, circa 1928. Geddes moved to Swans Island, Maine, in 1965.
