An image scanned from a color postcard depicting the Walker Art Building at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Undated.
Completed in 1894, the Walker Art Building was constructed as a gift to Bowdoin College from Harriet and Sophia Walker in honor of their uncle Theophilus Walker, a Boston entrepreneur and businessman. It was built of brick and granite in the Renaissance style to the design of the architect Charles Follen McKim.
