Researchers in a number of academic disciplines have supported Rising Tide initiatives at the University of Maine, including Sociology, Psychology, and Higher Education. Their scholarship has informed the ADVANCE project by facilitating development of initiatives that effectively target distinctive cultural norms at UMaine. Additionally, the research featured here has contributed to the literature and enhanced knowledge in the areas of gender equity, faculty satisfaction and retention, persistent barriers that disproportionately affect women in academia, and evaluative processes for higher education faculty.
