Sepia tone photograph Guy Kendall identified as Carter Hanover at the Grand Circuit Meet on Thursday, July 13, 1939, Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The horse in the photo is wearing saddle number two, however, which lines up with the bay colt, Brittanic, in the race day program Kendall used to make notes. The photograph is signed in the lower left corner by Guy Kendall.
