Description

Black and white photograph of bay gelding, Mac Harvester being held by an unidentified woman, most likely one of breeder William Morris Chellis daughters, Mary or Margaret Chellis. Noted in his April 14, 1948 obituary as a pioneer of the automobile business in New England, Chellis was known as a skilled breeder of Standardbred horses, his most successful horse being the gelding, Echo Harvester. The photograph was taken near the sheds at Narragansett Park, Gorham Fair Grounds, Gorham, Maine.
