Description
Sepia tone action photo of roan mare, Miss Crummer winning the second heat of the Classified Trot on Wednesday, September 9, 1936 at the Maine State Fair, Lewiston, Maine. Laurel Colburn finished in second with Ideal Boy taking the third place finish. Note that this is the first of Kendall's images composed to show the backs of spectactors lining the inside rail to watch a race finish. Note the figure in the lower left corner of the frame sporting several political advertisements on his hat and clothing. The photograph is signed in the lower right corner by Guy Kendall.
